According to the Courant, Edward W. Parsons had deposited $50,000 from the sale of building lots on the old town farm property in the Town of Hartford treasury.
The funds deposited were what remained after improvements to the old town farm property had been paid for.
There were about 30 build lots left to be sold.
On May 10, 1890, the Courant reported that five building lots and the old hospital building had been sold, and that grading on Sigourney Street north of Ashley Street was underway.
The same column reported that Edward Parsons had sold the home of Norman Hubbard to George F. Hubbard on behalf of the Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company. The home was located on “the Blue Hills road.”
On May 26, 1894, the Courant will report that the committee on the sale of the old town farm had filled a vacancy and that $75,000 had been deposited in the town treasury.
Edward W. Parsons was the treasurer of the Old Town Farm Committee.
