Michael McGivney beatified at Cathedral of Saint Joseph

During Mass at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph, Michael McGivney was beatified.

  1. The beatification ceremony included:
  • Reading a letter from Pope Francis
  • Unveiling a tapestry that featured McGiveny’s portrait
  1. The ceremony was led by Leonard P. Blair.

  1. Daniel Schachle, Michelle Schachle, and Michael Schachle attended the ceremony.
  2. Carl Anderson also attended the ceremony.

In terms of canonization, Michael McGivney is now one step away from sainthood.

The article did not name Michael Schachle’s mother, but her name is Michelle.

  1. In 2015, a miracle was ascribed to McGivney, after Daniel Schachle and Michelle Schachle prayed to McGivney to heal their unborn son, who had been diagnosed with fetal hydrops.
