The builders completed work on Trinity Episcopal Church, although some work remained underway.

  1. The organ was being placed in the location it had originally occupied in the Church of the Savior.
  2. The organ was the organ that had been in the Church of the Savior, which T. M. Allyn had bought at the auction on May 23, 1860.
  3. No rector had been called yet, but there was a person who was likely going to accept the position.

T. M. Allyn had concluded not to move the organ into Allyn Hall, “as he at one time contemplated.”

According to the article, “the organ, which formerly occupied a place in its gallery, is now being removed and re-instated in its old quarters.”  It isn’t clear whether the organ was being moved from one place in the church to another or whether it was newly arrived at the church.

  1. T. M. Allyn bought the organ from Charter Oak Bank on May 23, 1860.
  2. The women of the parish held a fundraiser for church furniture and the Sunday school library on December 21, 1860.

  1. The Courant anticipated that seats would be sold on April 10, 1861.
  2. The Courant also anticipated that the first service in the new church would be held on April 14, 1861.
  3. The organ was still being installed on April 10, 1861.
