Asylum Avenue Baptist Church votes to move forward with rebuilding their church

Members of Asylum Avenue Baptist Church attended a special meeting at the parish house of the Asylum Hill Congregational Church.

The members voted to restore the church to its original design, excluding the spire.

  1. The architects, Ebbets & Frid, anticipated that the total cost of the project would be $69,057.
  2. The contract with R. G. Bent & Company was worth $43,128.
  3. The single biggest expense that the church faced was the purchase of a new organ, which would be $12,000.
