According to an item published in the Courant today, work on the foundation of the new church building for Trinity Episcopal Church was underway.

The Courant reported that it wasn’t likely construction would progress beyond the foundation before work would be halted for the winter season.

The item included an architectural rendering of the front elevation of the new church building, as well as the parish house and chapel, both of which had been completed.

Work to disassemble the old church building was set to begin on January 27, 1892.

Church services were being held in the chapel.

  1. “To the extreme right of the picture, partly hid by the tree, is the rectory, which is not new.”
  2. “The building will be much deeper than it appears in the picture.”

The cornerstone of the new church building will be laid on June 25, 1894.
