The Courant reported today that the deconstruction of the Trinity Episcopal Church building would begin “at once.”

The church awarded the contact to Hiram Bissell, and his payment was the building and everything inside it.

The church maintained its commitment to being “absolutely a free church,” and the contributions made toward construction of the new building were “condition on the pews never being sold, rented or assigned.”

The last Sunday service in the “old” Trinity Church building was held on January 24, 1892.

Work on the foundation would be underway by August 11, 1892.

“Now it goes down again, and Mr. Bissell will soon have the makings of a church on his hands for sale.”
