Unitarians held their last service at the Church of the Savior

05/27/1860 |

Category:

The Universalist Society held their services in the Church of the Savior for the last time.

This date comes from an article published in the Courant on May 26, 1860.  It suggests that the furniture and maybe even some of the other fixtures had not been removed on May 23, 1860.

On May 23, 1860, the Charter Oak Bank held an auction to sell some of the fixtures from the church, at which time at least some items may have been removed from the church.

The bell will be removed from the Church of the Savior on June 13, 1860.
