George Affleck
(ca. 1816-1880) florist and horticulturalist; born in Scotland circa 1816; moved to Hartford, ca. 1840; worked for I. W. Bull and George Beach; went into business with Ransom Whitmore; operated Asylum Hill Nursery, 1850-1880; died in Hartford on February 17, 1880.
Henry Green
(1860-1914) inventor, electrician, pioneer roentgenologist; born in Birmingham, England in 1860; moved to Hartford, 1888; worked in incandescent lamps, ca.1890-1896; organized Green Electric Lamp Company; researched and experimented with x-rays, 1896-1914; organized Green & Bauer; died in Hartford on March 4, 1914.

(1830-1904) industrialist and resident of Asylum Hill (63 Spring Street & 847 Asylum Avenue); partner, Prescott, Plimpton & Company; president, L. B. Plimpton & Company; president, Plimpton Envelope & Paper Manufacturing Company; president, Plimpton Manufacturing Company (1872-1904); married (1861-1885) to Clarissa Hibbard (1835-1885); children Julia Bacon Plimpton (1862-1945), Mary L. Plimpton (1867-1951), and Grace L. Plimpton (1869-1954).
