Sunday service was held at 10:45 am at Asylum Avenue Baptist Church.

  1. Frank B. Haggard preached a sermon titled “Things Old and New.”
  2. The choir sang:
  • Prelude: a Sonatina from God’s Time is Best [Bach]
  • Chorale Prelude [Karg-Elert]
  • Anthem: How Lovely Are Thy Dwellings [Spohr]
  • Offertory: Meditation [Sturges]
  • Offertory anthem: Surely God Is In This Place [Arthur Priest]
  • Postlude: Praise the Lord O My Soul [Karg-Elert]

  1. This was the first service in the church since the fire on February 1, 1931.
  2. This service was not the dedication service, which would occur on November 15.

Frank B. Haggard also participated in the dedicatory service today at 8:00 pm at Immanuel Congregational Church.

The first in a series of dedication services for the new building would take place on November 15, 1931.
