Willis Howard Butler died at the parsonage, 854 Asylum Avenue, at the age of 57.

  1. He had been ill for a month before succumbing to pneumonia.
  2. It was not widely known that he was ill.

Butler gave his first sermon at Asylum Hill Congregational Church on October 5, 1919.

Butler’s funeral will take place on October 24, 1930.

  1. Butler had led a service attended by Calvin Coolidge and Grace Coolidge in Northampton, MA.
  2. He had been friends with Woodrow Wilson.
