Asylum Avenue Baptist Church voted to build a new parsonage

The Asylum Avenue Baptist Church voted to move forward with plans to build a new parsonage at a special business meeting tonight.

Approximately 30 members of the parish attended the meeting.

  1. The church had not yet finalized negotiations to purchase the land on which it would build the parsonage.
  2. Nevertheless, the church anticipated that construction would begin within the next two weeks.

George B. Chandler was the source of the Courant’s information on the special business meeting.

  1. The new parsonage would be “of old English style, with brick and wood front.”
  2. It will have
  • Nine rooms
  • Three bathrooms
  • A three-car garage
  1. The plans had already been prepared.
