The Asylum Hill Congregational Church held a special meeting tonight.

There were approximately 150 members at the meeting.
The attendees voted unanimously to call Bernard T. Drew to serve as their next senior minister.
- The vote was based on the recommendation of the pastoral committee.
They requested that Drew take up his new position on May 1, 1949.

David McKeith left as pastor.

Bernard Drew gave his first sermon at the church on May 1, 1949.

The pastoral committee had been chaired by Berkeley Cox.
