Julia Bradley, Mary Plimpton, and Grace Plimpton executed an agreement to extend payments on a loan they took out from Aetna Life Insurance Company.

  1. The outstanding amount remaining to be paid on the loan was $11,000, and the interest on the loan was 5.5%.
  2. The loan would be due on July 1, 1939.
  3. The house at 847 Asylum Avenue was collateral for the loan.

The mortgage on the original loan taken by Julia, Mary, and Grace was recorded at the City Clerk’s office on January 16, 1929.

  1. Aetna Life Insurance agreed to the extension on July 12, 1934.
  2. The extension agreement was recorded at the Clerk’s office on July 27, 1934.

Julia, Mary, and Grace will pay off the loan on April 5, 1937.

  1. “1. That the party of the second party will pay the indebtedness as hereinbefore provided, in gold coin of the United States of America of or equal to the present standard of value, for and to the extent as may from time to time be permitted by law, and otherwise in such medium or funds as may then be legal tender for the settlement of debts due United States of American.  Any remittances by check or draft shall be made subject to the condition that such check or draft may be handled for collection in accordance with the practice of the collecting bank or banks, and any receipt issues therefor shall be void unless the amount due is actually received by first party.”
  2. “4. That the party of the second part will keep the buildings on the premises fully insured against loss by fire, windstorm, steam boiler and explosion for the benefit of the party of the first part in companies acceptable to first party, and with mortgagee clause approved by first party, and will deposit all policies with the party of the first part …”
  3. “15. That the lien of said mortgage hereby is extended so as to cover all of the personal property (including shades, awnings, screens, refrigerators, electrical fixtures, stoves, hot water heaters, furnaces, radiators, toilets, motors and incinerators) attached to or used in connection with the mortgaged premises, all of which property the party of the second part represents themselves to be the owner of and, furthermore, that the lien of said mortgage hereby is extended so as to cover also any and all personal property which may hereafter be attached to or used in connection with the mortgaged premises.”
