Francis Goodwin died in the morning at 103 Woodland Street.

  1. Goodwin died in his sleep, sometime after midnight.
  2. The cause of death was bronchitis, and his death “was unexpected.”

  1. Goodwin had been working at his real estate office at 783 Main Street yesterday afternoon.
  2. Yesterday evening, he was forced to take to bed due to illness.
  3. Just before midnight, he spoke to his nurse, and he “showed no signs of failing.”

  1. Members of Goodwin’s family and his immediate relatives will hold a private prayer service at 103 Woodland Street at 2:00 PM on October 8, 1923.
  2. Goodwin’s funeral will take place at 2:30 PM on October 8, 1923. Chauncey Brewster and Ernest Miel will officiate.
  3. Goodwin will be buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Goodwin’s burial will follow the custom of his family, which was to have employees on the Goodwin estate fill his grave.  William Cosker, the superintendent of the estate, will supervise the burial.

  1. Chauncey Brewster was the bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut.
  2. Ernest Miel was the rector of Trinity Episcopal Church.
