The Hartford Fire Insurance Company gave its employees the entire day off while office equipment was moved from 125 Trumbull Street downtown to 690 Asylum Avenue.

Today had been a previously scheduled “half day holiday.”

Hartford Fire closed its offices at 125 Trumbull Street for good yesterday.

Today was a Saturday.

Hartford Fire will open its new offices at 690 Asylum Avenue on Monday.

“The two Hartfords closed their Trumbull street office for business Friday, and Saturday was turned from a half holiday to a full holiday, being taken up with the closing acts in the moving drama played by two companies, one of which has been in the abandoned building more than half a century and the other, while only a few years, ever since its organization.”

Unattributed, “’Two Hartfords’ now in new home,” Hartford Courant, November 7, 1921, page 9.
