Hartford Fire hasn’t sold its old building yet

According to the Courant, the Hartford Fire Insurance Company hadn’t been able to sell its soon-to-be former building at the corner of Trumbull and Pearl Streets.

  1. Hartford Fire had the building on the market for $1,000,000, but the most recent assessment placed the value of the building at $840,000.
  2. In the event the company couldn’t sell the building, Hartford Fire might remodel the building and then rent it for use as an office.
  3. The real estate agent for the sale was Porter B. Chase.

  1. Previously, Hartford Fire had had tenants in its building. The building had included both offices and apartments at this point.
  2. Hartford Fire eventually needed all of the space in the building for itself.
