The Courant reported that William F. O’Neill had been awarded the contract to construct the basement section for the new Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church on Capitol Avenue.

  1. The article reported that the basement section would be ready for occupancy on November 1, 1915.
  2. This was the only part of the new church that was to be built at this point in time.

The architects for the new church were Whiton & McMahon.

The existing Holy Trinity Church at 41 Capitol Avenue was slated to be converted to a parish school that would accommodate the approximately 150 children currently attending Sunday school there.

  1. “The superstructure of the church may not be erected for a number of years.”
  2. “There are about 1,000 Lithuanian Catholics in Hartford, and the steady growth of this contingent made the erection of the new church necessary.”

Unattributed.  “Lithuanian church plans completed,” Hartford Courant, June 18, 1915, page 6.
