Davis Memorial Window dedicated

The new memorial window at Trinity Episcopal Church was dedicated.

  1. Service began at 10:45 AM.
  • The choir and clergy entered and marched down the north aisle and up the center aisle to the middle of the church while the processional hymn “The Church’s One Foundation” was sung.
  • The congregation read responsively the 84th
  • The clergy, choir, and congregation turned to the back of the church and faced the window
  • Francis Goodwin formally dedicated the window.
  • The closing collects of thanksgiving for the departed were read
  • Service closed with the hymn “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty”
  • The choir and clergy proceeded to the chancel for holy communion.
  1. A benediction service followed the morning service.
  2. An organ recital began at 7:00 PM
  3. An evening prayer service and address began at 7:30 PM.

  1. Dedicatory service led by Francis Goodwin and Ernest deF. Miel
  2. Window was the gift of Elsie Davis, Arthur Wendell Davis, and Louis Pierrepont Davis and was dedicated to G. Pierrepont Davis.

The window was still in England on November 16, 1914.
