The Courant reported that the family of G. Pierrepont Davis will place a stained glass window in the west end of Trinity Episcopal Church over the main entrance to the church.

  1. The offer of the gift was made by Elsie L. Davis, who was G. Pierrepont Davis’s widow.
  2. The window was a gift in memory of G. Pierrepont Davis.

The Courant article does not give dates for either Elsie Davis’s offer of the window or the vestry’s meeting to consider the offer.

The vestry adopted a resolution that

  • accepted the gift from Elsie L. Davis
  • approved the tribute to G. Pierrepont Davis, and
  • directed Ernest Miel to express the vestry’s appreciation as well as its formation of a joint committee to “confer further with her on the subject.”

  1. The window was being made in England.
  2. The Courant noted that, “owing to the war, it is impossible to say when it will be completed.”

Heath, Butler & Bayne will be at work on the window as of November 16, 1914.
