Howard Arnold Walter began his service as assistant pastor at Asylum Hill Congregational Church, giving the sermon at the evening praise service.

  1. Joseph Twichell announced Walter’s acceptance of the call to serve as assistant pastor at the morning service today.
  2. Walter had preached at the Norfolk Congregational Church this morning.
  3. Walter replaced Philip C. Walcott, who had gone to become pastor at the Naugatuck Congregational Church.
  4. The subject of his sermon was “Elijah’s Challenge.”

Walter first met with members of the Asylum Hill Congregational Society in September 1910 at a luncheon.

Walter will be examined and installed as assistant pastor on November 18, 1910.

Walter would live with Harry Conklin at 983 Asylum Avenue.
