Linus B. Bacon died at his home at 847 Asylum Avenue at 8:00 AM.

  1. The cause of death was pneumonia.
  2. His daughters – Julia Plimpton Bradley, Mary L. Plimpton, and Grace Plimpton – were at their father’s bedside when he died.

  1. Plimpton was in his office on February 8, 1904.
  2. The next day, February 9, he stayed home with what was believed to be a “slight cold.”
  3. Plimpton’s illness developed into pneumonia on February 12, 1904.
  4. Over the weekend, February 13-14, 1904, he appeared to be recovering.
  5. Yesterday, Plimpton’s strength began to fail.

  1. The funeral will be tomorrow at 847 Asylum Avenue.
  2. Burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery will follow the funeral.
  3. Linus's estate will go to probate on March 2, 1904.

  2. “He was genial and kindly to all whom he met in his daily walks, was generous and philanthropic in a large measure and won the respect and esteem of all with whom he came in contact. By his employees was he especially beloved and each found in him a true friend.”
