New Baptismal Font Dedicated at Asylum Hill Congregational Church

The new baptismal font at Asylum Hill Congregational Church was informally dedicated after the morning service.

  1. Joseph Twichell christened Porter Bourne Chase.
  2. Twichell then made a brief dedicatory prayer.

The baptismal font was installed yesterday.

“The congregation at the Asylum Hill Congregational Church was surprised yesterday to see standing on the platform to the left of the pulpit, an elegant baptismal font of marble which was put in place in the church Saturday.”

  1. Porter Bourne Chase was 10-months old.
  2. Porter was George L. Chase’s grandson, Charles E. Chase’s son, and Isabel Longley’s nephew.
