The Asylum Hill Congregational Society committee voted to allow the memorial to Harriet Foote Hawley to be placed in the church on June 24, 1886.
On September 17, 1886, the Veteran Soldiers of the Seventh Regiment, Connecticut volunteers approved placement of a memorial to Harriet Foote Hawley at the Asylum Hill Congregational Church.
