This morning, the body of Thomas Galberry was dressed in full canonical robes and placed in a metal casket.

  1. The Courant article was published before the preparations for the funeral began, but the report on Galberry’s funeral confirmed that he was in a metal casket.
  2. Also, this article didn’t mention that Galberry’s body had been taken to the Episcopal residence before being placed on view in the chapel at Mount Saint Joseph Convent.

  1. Galberry’s body had been on view in the chapel in the Mount Saint Joseph Convent since its arrival in Hartford on October 11, 1878. The chapel had been open “night and day” during this period of time.
  2. The mourning drapery was completed and installed in the Cathedral of Saint Joseph yesterday.

The funeral of Thomas Galberry will take place tomorrow.

  1. “Thousands of persons have, both Roman Catholics and Protestants, taken advantage of the opportunity to look upon the face of the dead prelate, which preserve a very natural expression.”
  2. “During Sunday great interest was felt in the services at the cathedral.”

The Courant based some of its information on Galberry’s funeral on an article published in the Connecticut Catholic.
