The Courant ran a classified ad that advertised that O. L. Hatch was selling a “very desirable single house on Asylum Avenue.”
The house for sale had “all the modern conveniences” that included “large and pleasant front and back yards well stocked with fruit trees, grape vines and ornaments” and “shrubs.”
Hatch advertised that interested parties could apply to him at his office at the United States Life Insurance Company.
The ad doesn’t give the address of the house for sale, but it is very likely that it is 847 Asylum Avenue.
Hatch will lose 847 Asylum Avenue to foreclosure on June 12, 1877.
Unattributed. “Real estate for sale,” Hartford Daily Courant, March 20, 1877, page 1.
