The board of directors subsequently held a meeting at which officers were elected.

The stockholders elected the following individuals to serve as directors of the company:

  • M. L. Chapman
  • Sidney L. Clark
  • G. A. Graves
  • Frederick W. Plimpton
  • Linus B. Plimpton
  • Timothy Sheldon

The directors elected the following individuals to serve as officers:

  • President: Linus B. Plimpton
  • Vice President: L. Chapman
  • Treasurer: Frederick W. Plimpton

The two meetings likely occurred on the same day, and that day was probably yesterday, January 2, 1873.  The Courant article, however, does not give the date of the meetings.

The article gave the name of the company, Plimpton Manufacturing Company, in quotes.
