The Hartford Board of Aldermen met at a special meeting.
The Plimpton Envelope and Paper Company petitioned the board for permission to install a steam engine in its building on Ford Street.
The mayor, Charles R. Chapman, occupied the chair.
“Plympton” in this case would be Plimpton. Plympton was a variation that occurred regularly in the Courant.
Unattributed. “City government – special meeting last evening,” Hartford Daily Courant, April 3, 1868, page 2.
