The table below includes all permits pulled for the renovation of the Mansion House, including permits pulled for unexpected or unplanned work, and it compares the initial estimated costs for each permit with the costs as certified in the project audit. The last column covers the "reasonable cost" as concluded by the municipal inspectors, and in only one case did the inspectors disagree with the accountant. The table does not include permit application fees.
The accountant used the initial building permit, B-26505-HR, as covering the building work as well as the work under the other major trades. The accountant then used that permit to list the complete estimate for all of the work of the major trades, which was in the case of the electrical and heating work spread out over multiple permits. The table uses the accountant's estimate and then breaks out the estimate for each permit pulled, both in order to show permits pulled for both planned and unplanned work and also because I only had access to the estimated costs via the individual permit applications.
The estimated costs as listed by the accountant, as well as the hard and soft costs which the accountant did not itemize in his report to the City, are in black. Costs listed in green are for planned costs. Costs noted in red are for unexpected costs.
