Tracking Stowe’s involvement once the chapel was completed has been fairly straightforward, as the Courant published each Saturday the times of Sunday services (morning and evening), Sunday school, and Bible studies. Before the chapel was completed, however, the record is largely silent as to any services related to the Asylum Hill Congregational Society.
It appears that both of the Stowes had a personal connection to AHCC. First, Calvin: he taught at Andover from 1852 to 1864, and Twichell completed his studies there, from 1863 to 1864. Second, Harriet: her nephew was Charles E. Perkins, and his obituary lists him as one of the founders of AHCC.
