Joseph Kolosky & Son applied for a permit to make repairs to the wood cornice and the garage at 847 Asylum Avenue.

The applicant estimated that the work would cost $175.

The application described the house as a “convalescent home.”

According to the application, there was a letter on file describing the proposed work in greater detail.

Work required to convert the house into a home for the elderly began in November 1954.

  1. The application will be approved on January 24, 1958, and the permit will be issued on January 27.
  2. A municipal inspector will inspect the progress on the work on March 4, 1958.
  3. The municipal inspector declared that the work had been completed on June 24, 1958.
  4. On October 20, 1959, work would begin to demolish the garage.

  1. The work would cost the equivalent of $1,946.59 in 2025.
  2. The application listed Irving Levy as the owner, with his address care of Gertrude Berman.
