James L. Howard died

His health had been failing for the last two to three years.

1. Last week, he went out riding.
2. Harold Pattison and several others met with Howard in his library on April 27, 1906.
3. On April 29, 1906, he took to his bed, his condition declining rapidly.
4. Last night, James L. Murphy spent time as Howard’s bedside.

1. The funeral for James Howard will be held on May 3, 1906, at 3:00 PM at 67 Collins Street.
2. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery.

1. Howard was 89 at the time of his death.
2. James L. Murphy was Howard’s coachman.
