Grace H. White “caused notice to be served” on the tenants of the Holbrook Building that they would have to vacate their premises by January 1.

The “notice to vacate” was part of the sale of the building to A. B. Gillett.

Yesterday, the Courant reported that Grace White had sold the Holbrook Building to A. B. Gillett for an undisclosed amount.

A. B. Gillett was out of town today.

  1. “The tenants who received notices to quit the building were a bit disturbed.”
  2. “It was stated that the notice to quit possession was served upon them by Mrs. White merely as a legal measure, so that on January 1 she can transfer the property to Mr. Gillett with a clear title.”

Grace H. White was Caleb M. Holbrook’s daughter and his sole heir.
