According to the Courant, the Plimpton Envelope Company had elected its officers and its directors.

  1. The officers elected were:
  • President: Linus B. Plimpton
  • Vice President & Superintendent of Stamped Envelope Works: Maro S. Chapman
  • Secretary & Treasurer: Frederic W. Plimpton
  • Auditor: James S. Tryon
  1. The directors elected were:
  • Leonard H. Bacon
  • Newton Case
  • Maro S. Chapman
  • Ralph Cheney
  • Sidney Clark
  • Henry Corning
  • A. M. Hurlburt
  • Frederic W. Plimpton
  • Linus B. Plimpton

The Courant didn’t give a date for the annual meeting at which the officers and directors were elected, but January 21, 1876, was a Friday, making it likely the meeting had occurred during the business week beginning Monday, January 17, 1876.

The board of directors will hold its next annual meeting on January 16, 1877.

One of the other companies that held annual meetings during the prior week was the National Stave Company.  That company’s directors elected George B. Barnes to be secretary and treasurer, and George Barnes owned 847 Asylum Avenue at this point in time.
