The new bell for the Asylum Hill Congregational Church arrived.

  1. The bell was scheduled to be installed tomorrow, June 23, 1871.
  2. It was scheduled to be rung for church services on June 25, 1871.

I haven’t found any contemporary articles that confirm the details on the installation of the bell or when it first rang.

The church was dedicated on June 15, 1866.

  1. A neighbor will complain about the bell on June 12, 1875.
  2. The steeple would be completed on August 25, 1875.

The Courant referred to the church as the “Asylum Avenue Congregational church.”
