John Voorhees Transported to New York Hospital

At 10:00 AM, John Voorhees was transported to New York Hospital.

  1. That night, after she had visited John in the hospital, Juliana Voorhees called the Courant to update them on her husband’s condition.
  2. She reported that his condition was generally good and that he looked well.
  3. The hospital planned to take an x-ray of his leg tomorrow.
  4. The reporter asked her if John knew about Joseph Twichell’s death. Juliana said that she had told him, and the news had saddened him.  She said that John regretted he hadn’t been in Hartford when Twichell died.
  5. She expected to return to Hartford on the 7:00 PM train tomorrow evening.

Voorhees arrived in New York City on the La France on December 24, 1918.

The hospital would operate on John Voorhees’s leg on December 28, 1918.

Joseph Twichell died on December 20, 1918.
