A new marble baptismal font was installed in Asylum Hill Congregational Church.

The font was an Easter gift of George L. Chase, given in memory of his daughter Isabel Chase Longley, who died in 1893.

The baptismal font will be dedicated tomorrow.

“Mr. Chase has had in view for some time the placing in the church of a memorial to his daughter and at first thought of a memorial window, but as the church windows are not so arranged that a memorial [window] can be placed therein, decided upon a baptismal font.”
