Asylum Hill Congregational Society petitions for permission to build

Hartford’s Common Council referred a petition of the Asylum Hill Congregational Society for leave to build a church on Asylum Avenue.

Near as I can tell, this counts as an application for a building permit.  Typically, the Courant would report the Council’s actions on these petitions, but so far I haven’t been able to find the disposition of this one.

Patrick Keely was at work on designs for the church on July 13, 1864.

  1. The Courant published a review of the church plans on September 26, 1864.
  2. The chapel would be completed on March 4, 1865.
